Progetto Vita: The Lifesaving App for Cardiac Arrest
Progetto Vita is a pioneering initiative in Europe to combat sudden cardiac arrest, which claims over 60,000 lives every year. The project involves volunteer associations, public and private entities, and aims to increase survival rates after cardiac arrest through early defibrillation and awareness-raising about emergency cardiology among the population and integration with emergency services.
The Progetto Vita app allows users to request and provide help. When calling the emergency number, 118, through the app, the Progetto Vita network of rescuers is also alerted, who can receive the report and intervene through the app. However, the app is currently only effective in some cities in Italy, while in the rest of the country, it simply dials the 118 number.
